FAQ

Why can't I upload a photo to my page?

Our system supports images in jpg, png or gif formats. If you are having difficulty uploading a photograph, the problem could be that the file size is too big. Keep it to under 1 MB by cropping unnecessary backgrounds, reducing the pixel size or saving it in low res - 72 dpi is fine for the web.

Another reason your picture won't load is spaces in the name, e.g. At Kilimanjaro Summit.jpg. Change the name to: summit.jpg or KilimanjaroSummit.jpg or At_Kilimanjaro_Summit.jpg

Can I upload additional photos to my page?

If you are hosting your own images, you may include them in your fundraising blog by clicking on the 'source' code button and adding HTML image tags. Absolute paths are required (e.g. http://www.YourSite.com/images/mypic.jpg).

My friends don't have credit cards – is there any other way they can sponsor me?

Yes, we have just included the option to make a direct deposit into our account via Internet Banking or EFT. Sponsors chosing this option should complete and verify the sponsor form in order to add their details to your list of sponsors - however these details may take up to 3 days to display owing to the delay in payments from other banks being reflected in our account. Please email info@doit4charity.co.za should you need to track or verify a payment.

Help - no one is supporting me!

It's important to get the word out to everyone you know, and ask for support. Tell everyone at work what you are doing, email your friends, put your details on Facebook, Twitter, My Space and other networking sites. Update your fundraising blog regularly and look at pages of successful fundraisers – e.g. Ryan Sherwood, Alistair Arnott, Jolene Bertoldi – for ideas of how to make your page work for you.

How do I tell my friends where to find me on Doit4Charity?

The name of your fundraising page is www.doit4charity.co.za/fundraising and then your first and last name, separated by a fullstop/period (.) For example, fundraising/Glen.Botha

If you are sending an email to someone, in order to avoid any mistake, it's best to open your fundraising page and then copy and paste the entire address you see in the address bar of your browser into the email. If you are using the SHARE button on your page, the link to your page will be automatically included in the email.
